Three Simple Hacks to Help you Meet Your Goals

Have you ever felt like your dreams were just too big? Have you ever felt like giving up because you don’t see any results in your life, and you feel like you are wasting your time? If so, you are not alone. According to Tauseef Ahmad Dar, Co-Founder and CEO of AdexLearnings, only 8% of people achieve their dreams/goals and 92% just give up or fail to do it https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/why-people-give-up-dreamsgoals-tauseef-ahmad-dar/.
That number is huge and alarming! We can sit here and talk about how lazy or unmotivated people are, but I don’t believe that to be true. I feel that people are lacking inner healing, and are recreating old narratives from their loved ones that prevent them to keep moving forward towards their dreams.
Hear me out.
As a life coach, I see people at the lowest stage in their lives. They are hurting due to their relationships being strained with their partner or loved ones, and this sometimes causes them to disconnect from their purpose. When we go through hard things, our tendency is usually to jump right into work in order to avoid what we are going through, or run away from our lives because we feel overwhelmed.
For me, I wasn’t happy as a School Counselor, but I stayed as long as I did because I didn’t want to feel like I wasted my time and money in a job that I had invested in emotionally and financially. I told myself that walking away from it, meant that I was a failure, and that I should have researched it properly before even going through with it.
Many of us tell ourselves these things when we try to minimize our purpose. What we don’t realize, is that our purpose is given to us by a higher power. You can call it the Universe or God, whatever feels good to you, there is no right or wrong here. The point is, you are pulled into a certain direction because of a seed that was planted in you at birth.
For me, I always told myself I wanted to help other people. I was always the go to for advice, I was great with words, hell, I even wrote my best friend’s graduation speech for high school, as well as my principal’s speech to the parents and students who were promoting to high school.
Why is that? Why was I pulled towards helping? Towards words? Why was I pulled into a dream of helping transforms other people’s lives; one word God.
My dream is to reach a stage of hundreds of thousands of people. I want to share my voice and my ideas on how to break generational trauma cycles. Am I afraid? hell Yes. Will I stop trying? Hell no! I can’t. My intuition won’t let me. Every time I try, I get a sign to keep going, and because I have a strong faith, I don’t quit.
Here are three tips to help you keep going towards your dreams.
- Have faith. You must know that the reason why you cannot stop thinking about that one thing, is because it was given to you by something bigger than you. Trust it. Trust yourself. That dream was planted in your heart, for you to fulfill. No one needs to understand it, but you.
- Connect the dots. Look at the last 20 years of your life and look for any “coincidences”. You probably wrote them off as coincidences, but I assure you they are not. This will give you proof that you have been on the right track your whole life!
- Look at your wins for the last 6-12 months. When you are so focused on the end goal, you will easily miss all the small wins that you have accomplished towards that goal. This will show you how far you have come, and will inspire to keep going!
Here is one my favorite quotes that I lean on when feeling worried or afraid
“If your dreams don’t scare you, they aren’t big enough.”
I assure you, you can do this. Don’t be a part of that 92 percent of people who do not go after their dreams. Heal your inner child so you can reach your fullest potential!
I recorded a podcast episode on this very topic you just read, but I included more of my backstory. You can check it out here.
Thank you for being here. I appreciate you. I will see you with a new blog post next week!
